Lloyd Forman

Wy’East Council Secretary and Treasurer

Lloyd's grandfather homesteaded in Central Oregon in 1902 and Lloyd grew up on the farm and has lived here his entire life. Lloyd's father became actively engaged in the operation in the early 1950's.  The farm consists of very fragile and highly erodible soils.  His father committed a tremendous amount of time and energy in an effort to reduce soil erosion, allowing the land to continue to be productive and provide a livelihood for those who worked it. His father's reverence for the Earth instilled in him the desire to make a similar commitment.
Lloyd's dad was involved with the Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) for many years as he was present.  It was through the SWCD that Lloyd was introduced to Wy'East RC&D.  The projects that Wy'East has championed are of a nature that he values; resource conservation, enterprise facilitation, local food networks, community gardens, and farmers markets.  Lloyd sees Wy'East as a vehicle to promote and foster a more sustainable relationship between man and his planet.
