Wy’East’s Rural Charging Infrastructure Grant

ODOE CREP Project

Wy’East Resource Conservation and Development was awarded a CREP Grant through the Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE), working along with the Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District. The funds are being used to purchase mobile charging and backup battery units to be placed in rural areas of Wasco County. These units are strengthening the charging infrastructure available in rural areas of the county, while also attracting additional customers to small businesses. The units will also provide backup power in the event of an emergency for fuel pumps, refrigeration, and additional vital equipment. This project was started in early 2025, and two of the four units have been placed so far in Antelope, OR and Wamic, OR.
