Irrigation Efficiency

Wy'East is a Program Delivery Contractor (PDC) working with Energy Trust of Oregon under contract with Energy 350. Wy'East serves as the Irrigation Lead for Energy Trust of Oregon's Production Efficiency Program.

Benefits of Irrigation Efficiency

Irrigation efficiency refers to the ability to irrigate effectively with less water. By improving your irrigation efficiency, you can lower your utility bills without sacrificing production.

Irrigation efficiency saves water, saves energy, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

Precision irrigation

Precision irrigation systems conserve water by applying water evenly and close to the soil surface, minimizing loss from evaporation and wind.

  • Low Energy Precision Application (LEPA) and Low Elevation Spray Application (LESA): require less pressure to operate, reducing water use and energy costs.

Variable Frequency Drives:

Variable Frequency Drives adjust the speed of the pump motor in response to flow and/or power demand fluctuations. VFDs can reduce operation costs and save energy while maintaining consistent water pressure.
